MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE AND SHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON THURSDAY 15TH JUNE 2017 AT SAXELBYE

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the Meeting and invited members of the public to speak on matters they wish to bring to the attention of the Parish Council.
Six Hills Garden Village Development Proposals were discussed.  Public Exhibition to be held tomorrow and Saturday.   


MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Minutes of the Meeting held on 17th May 2017 were approved and signed.


DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

The Members had no interests to declare at this stage.


MATTERS ARISING

Parish Council Website -  Dave White has looked into updating website with freeola and not as simple to transfer as first thought.  He has contacted Stuart Inkley (local computer expert) and he is willing to assist and provide training for Clerk, Dave White & Alison Williams.  Cost would be approx. £200 and any other service from him would be £45 per hour.  Parish Council agreed Stuart Inkley sets up website and Clerk to try to obtain funding from Transparency Fund.

Village Life - Parish Council News.  Clerk commented again been asked if Planning Applications etc. could be put in Village Life.  Decided Planning Matters discussed at previous Meeting would be published in Village Life for trial period.

Play Area - Melton Borough Council happy to sweep path if mechanical sweeper would have access to area.  Councillors to inspect Play Area fencing and discuss at next Meeting.

Community Response Plan.  Decided ask Gary Carter to attend next Meeting to discuss queries raised and simplify.


CORRESPONDENCE

The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:-
Melton Borough Council - Prior Notifications for change of use of agricultural buildings.  Explaining why objections cannot be made to such applications - form part of ‘permitted development’.  Clerk to forward details of Permitted Development Application at Shoby (15/00905/GDOCOU) to Cllr Hutchison and he will contact Jim Worley for more details and ask if covers demolition.

Gladman Land – Development Proposals, Six Hills Garden Village.  Public Exhibition to be held tomorrow at Six Hills Golf Course 10.00 - 4.00 and Saturday at Melton Library.

Melton Borough Council - Leics. Police Public Vigilance.

Melton Borough Council - Fly the Flag for Armed Forces Day.  Monday 19th June at 10.40 am at Melton Borough Council Flag Pole.

Seafarers UK - Merchant Navy Day 3rd September.

LRALC - Annual Parishes Liaison Event.  10th July at County Hall commencing at 17.15.

Melton Borough Council - Community Safety Officer.  Presentation on Cyber Crime and internet safety.  Decided invite to attend Parish Council Meeting in September.

PLANNING MATTERS

The Rosary, 9 Main Street, Saxelbye  (Application No. 16/00736/FULHH).  Proposed demolition and re-building of outbuilding to form additional accommodation.  Approval of Planning Permission received.

Glebe Farm, Saxelbye (Application No. 17/00373/FUL).  Twin span extension to existing agricultural storage barn facility.  Approval of Planning Permission received.


ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Chairman suggested another Defibrillator Training should be organised.  Clerk to contact Community Heartbeat.

Chairman asked if Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is co-ordinated in Grimston.  

Clerk to inform Highways verges on Shoby Bends have not been cut.
