MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE AND SHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 24TH JULY 2017 AT SAXELBYE

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the Meeting and invited members of the public to speak on matters they wish to bring to the attention of the Parish Council.
The Grimston Traffic Survey was discussed and comment made that the chippings were laid on Main Street with ‘Slow Signs’ erected the day before the Survey commenced. The sensor was sited by the Bus Shelter on Main Street and not where suggested. The Survey under-estimated level of speeding. Suggested ask if Leics. County Council will conduct re-test.
Comment was made the crown of the Horse Chestnut Tree should be trimmed. Tree Survey to be carried out in Autumn.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
The Minutes of the Meeting held on 15th June 2017 were approved and signed.

The Members had no interests to declare at this stage.
MATTERS ARISING
Parish Council Website - Clerk reported Meeting been held with Stuart Inkley. Circulated details to Parish Councillors and agreed should proceed with new website per quote of £450. Now been informed will be easier to cancel Direct Debit with freeola for £3.49 and go completely with Stuart’s suggestion. Domain name will be grimstonpc.org rather than sub domain name with Freeola. Training will take place in next couple of weeks, any Parish Councillor wishing to attend the Training is welcome and there will be no extra charge.
Community Response Plan Update - Gary Carter now decided, due to work commitments, does not have the time to get involved. Decided we will go through Template and complete essential information and leave in Village Hall for reference. Suggested Village Hall contact details should be displayed on Parish Notice Board. Clerk to confirm approval with Brian Gibbins.
Speeding Traffic Survey in Grimston - Agreed Clerk contacts James Gibson and asks if Leics. County Council will conduct Survey again to give accurate reflection of speed and put Sensor in suggested place on Main Street nearer to 30 mph Sign.
Play Area - Request for nettles and weeds to be cleared by the side of the Play Area. Decided Parish Council will visit site after Meeting tonight to discuss further.
Change of Use of Agricultural Buildings - Cllr. Hutchison communicating with Jim Worley and will update at next Meeting.
CORRESPONDENCE
The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:-
Western Power. Request to prune Horse Chestnut Tree on Village Green and by Church for safety clearance. Need minimum clearance of 1 metre away from conductors. Consent Form signed by Clerk. Agreed should be as sympathetic as possible.
Melton Borough Council - Local Plan & CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) Consultation.
